Die Internationale Elektrotechnische Kommission (IEC) mit Sitz in Genf plant universell kompatible Notebook-Ladegeräte zum Industriestandard zu machen. Als Begründung führt die IEC vor allem an, dass man Elektroschrott vermeiden möchte.
