A Mercedes-Benz–branded VAIO Z Flip is now available for purchase, but is currently limited to Japan. The special edition notebook hopes to entice buyers with its generously-applied logos and a unique boot-up feature, but its high asking price may instead drive them away.

The price comparison is incorrect, since the price for the Vaio Z at the Microsoft Store in the US is a discounted price in comparison to the US Vaio site, which is 1799. However, prices in Japan are way higher for the same model, so the comparison would be more adequate to the price of the same Vaio Z flip as in Japan....which turns out to be around 245,000 Yen, so the difference to the Mercedes branded one is about 360 dollars. Still too much....of course.
Ridiculous (or applistic) feature. How the customers would be angry if they hear the boot splash-sound can be added to into normal bootloaders in normal (sub one-grad dollar) laptops.
