Title: Alienware 15 R3 (i7-7820HK, GTX 1080 Max-Q, Full-HD) Laptop Review
Post by: Redaktion on October 29, 2017, 17:08:07
Gaming bolide. The Alienware 15 R3 has a matte 60-Hz IPS display that supports Nvidia's G-Sync Technology. The potent hardware displays all current games smoothly.

Too expensive and too loud compared to other GTX 1080MQ laptops, sure you get a slightly better CPU but is it really worth it?Better battery life is a plus.
The Asus Zephyrus is a cheaper, lighter and overall much better looking and a much better laptop only worse thing about the Zephyrus is battery life.
I thought MQ laptops were all about being thin and lite not this loud expensive monstrosity.

After reading this review it seems to me that an Alienware 15" 1070 MAXQ is the the best comprise. It will have more battery life than a 17" without MAXQ and be quiet by comparison. And a 1070 MAXQ is significantly better than a 1060. This is the configuration I am going to order. I am not a gamer but I am an avid photographer. I want power but I don't want an airplane taking of in my living room.

Forgot to mention: MAXQ is not an option with the 17" Alienware. It gives me a raison to buy the 15" otherwise I was tempted by the 17".
