Title: The Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G2 is interesting because of its SD card reader
Post by: Redaktion on April 11, 2021, 08:13:33
Laptop manufacturers have often been accused by some of being "obsessed with slimness". A casualty of the trend towards increasingly thinner laptops are full-size SD card slots. This makes the few models that still have SD card slots - such as the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 - all the more interesting.

On the flip side, the most popular business laptop brand in Japan, Panasonic Let's Note with ultralight laptops all have tons of ports and sd card readers.

Seems the other brands are shortchanging buyers.

Good article Mr. Herzig, and an Adorable point on Panasonic's original thinking vs regional competition. Panasonic also makes other electronics with similar original thinking (four third sensors on digital cameras). So, any reason why Panasonic is not penetrating markets outside of Japan, as much as regional competitors ASUS, ACER, and Lenovo are? We only see some very limited, extreme application Panasonic laptops in the USA.

Japan is kind of insular when it comes to technology sometimes, it's the land where the fax still thrives, flip phones still haven't been completely ditched and people still have arcade games. It's not surprising that Panasonic can sell those bricks and call them laptops in 2021.
