Post by: Redaktion on April 12, 2018, 23:52:13
Smart business. Dell is updating its business subnotebooks of the 7000 series with the current Kaby Lake Refresh CPUs and has equipped the 7390 with a smart card slot in addition to other security features. Our extensive test evaluates whether in addition to having a very long battery life, the display, connections, and input devices can also stand up to the demands of a professional.

Are you sure there is no TB3 option? According to DELL's web site there are options with it.

Nothing about the new matte touchscreen with this generation?    ???
Perhaps the reason for the glare in sunlight you mentioned. Interesting new technology, worth reviewing...

There are two options with USB-C connector: USB-C with DisplayPort or TB3. With the second one, you can also supply power (tested with Macbook charger)

Hello, thanks for the review. I received yesterday this Dell 7390 with the same exact specs. I travel for business quite often, but most of the times I will be using the laptop in the office connected to a monitor.
To take care of the battery life, I was planning to use it plugged in, and remove the battery while in the office.
Do you recommend me to do that? It will do any good? Or if I just used it plugged in with the battery in it I will be fine?
Kindly recommend the best way to ensure a long battery health please. Thanks so much!

In Dell Command | Power manager select "Primarily AC" (or other battery plan that best fits your usage) and leave the battery inside.
After almost 4 years of usage with "Primarily AC" in similar system my battery shows 20% of wear. My AC/Battery usage pattern is around 70/30%
