Title: Huawei MediaPad M5 (10.8 inches, LTE) Tablet Review
Post by: Redaktion on April 12, 2018, 21:40:07
Chinese luxury. Huawei used to be content with being low-end. However, now it is entering the high-end space. The MediaPad M5 10.8 is the current top-end tablet from Huawei. Here the manufacturer shows off its confidence when it comes to the asking price: Even the new iPad is cheaper under certain circumstances. So the question we have here is two-fold: Is Huawei asking too much for the new slate or is its new high-end tablet really that good?

The comments regarding the Kirin 960/960s are not accurate.  The 960s has a lower clockspeed, therefore, the findings are not an anomaly.

Infact, the USB port is USB 2.0, not USB 3.0. I asked Huawei Support and they confirmed it is USB 2.0
"Thank you for contacting Huawei Support.

The USB specification on the M5 tablet are:

USB/Charging Port
USB 2.0/USB Type-C

"

I can't understand why it's so big difference between Huawei MediaPad M5 and Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro in screen flickering (PWM).

Huawei MediaPad M5 ~ 19 000 Hz
Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro ~ 220 Hz

And why both screens so different from each other. Its practically same model. Pro should be better screen but now its vice versa.

" For instance: When you watch a video on the tablet and accidentally put your finger on the fingerprint reader (which can easily happen because of its location) you will be sent to the Home Screen. Fortunately, this function can be disabled to avoid such problems."

How?? I don't find any way for this

There is no question that this tablet is a good one but, is nothing in the user manual about how to connect it to a TV - at list to see the pictures. I've tried an adapter USB C to Hdmi  but it doesn't work.

I have one of these pads and you cannot make phone calls on it. If you want to make a phone call you have to use W-hatsApp or messenger over Wi-Fi. The SIM card only allows you to use 4g Wi-Fi not make phone calls
