Title: The Meizu Pro 7 Plus has a worse camera than its predecessor
Post by: Redaktion on December 01, 2017, 20:26:21
The Meizu Pro 7 Plus made its trip over to popular camera benchmarking platform DxOMark over the week, with the Chinese flagship putting up numbers that failed to match what we saw on its predecessor while being significantly worse than any other flagship released this year.

An interesting and somewhat unfortunate finding indeed - maybe it would've been a better outcome without changing anything.

A minor correction: DxOmark isn't reported out of 100, according to MKBHD - the number is more or less arbitrary but there are scores above 100.

Hey there, Adrian. Article author here. Definitely, I think Meizu devices usually have decent cameras, so this was such a let-down. I expect it's an image processing issue, though, so there's a chance the company makes it better with software updates.

Whoops, never knew the scores go above 100. That does make sense, though, as the best smartphone has a score of 98 already, and 2018 flagships are certain to perform better.
