Title: PlayStation 5 will be beaten by the Xbox Series S in both frame rate and ray tracing according to unconvincing claim
Post by: Redaktion on October 27, 2020, 12:12:12
An astonishing claim has been made by a self-proclaimed "Xbox insider" in regard to the performance abilities of the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S, with the latter apparently beating the PS5 in terms of frame rate and ray tracing. Elsewhere, Ubisoft and Capcom have been updating gamers with news about expected next-gen console titles.

He said framerate and raytracing, not resolution. Series S is designed to push half the resolution of series x. If ps5 is pushed to be on par with series x, series s would be able to maintain a more stable framerate.

Good to see Ubisoft update this, though jumping to the kind of conclusions of the person behind this from some extremely vague wording is pretty dubious all around. It's entirely possible that the XSS might match the framerates of the PS5 - just at 1440p instead of 2160p - but its RT performance is definitely worth questioning unless they've overprovisioned its SoC with a disproportionately high RT accelerator complement compared to the other consoles.
