The display notch has become one of the biggest polarizing factors in the smartphone industry. It has also resulted in a number of design tweaks to avoid it while maximizing screen real-estate. Huawei has patented an innovative form-factor that avoids the notch without resorting to one of these.

A bezel by any other name, as they say...

...or would this count as the kind of "outie notch" you get on the new zenbook?

Apple didn't "pioneer" the notch. They copied the Essential phone. Get it right.

Zenbook S13 right? Now that you mention it, I do think that their implementation are the best compromise yet as far as non full screen interference goes. Even for phones really. No popup or sliding mechanism required too.
