Title: Canon unveils a new CMOS sensor with super-powered 120MP resolution

Canon is attending the 2019 Sensors Expo & Conference in San Jose, California to showcase its new 120MXSI sensor. This CMOS is rated for 120MP imaging, and can operate in visible and near-infra-red (NIR) light spectra at a maximal 9.4 frames per second.

With phones going 64mp+, maybe even 192mp in future, pro tech lagging is obvious since smartphones are where most money goes.(color,depth, multipple fov, AI in one device included)
Though p30pro can shoot milky way, I would welcome some video capable sensor for pitch black night scenario.

I wish they would leave off the infrared filters and just use the software to filter them out. That way you could take infrared pictures without modifying the camera.. and it could focus in the dark without needing a ttl flash assist..
