Title: The best Camera Smartphones in Comparison
Post by: Redaktion on October 31, 2015, 23:47:37
Say cheese! We have a look at eight current flagship smartphones and compare the camera performance. The devices were tested in all disciplines starting with daylight shots, panoramas and low-light situations.

Hmm was just checking those photos and thinking what is this whitish blur in all G4 picks.. i guess it was the winning criteria :D

First time to post here - I agree 1000% with your sentiment.   i really have no idea what the author viewed the pictures on, but I would have to guess it to be an uncalibrated or lower end monitor.   I'd not put the G4's camera at the top let alone second!   I can't help but feel like there is a smog or ozone haze everywhere.

Everyone, before commenting about something, please read the full article. Like for example it's indeed that from the first comparison, LG's photo looks a bit foggy/blurred. But, if you look at what criteria it's in, it's close-up shots, so it's normal for the unfocused part of the picture to be blurred, because what's matter is the detail of the flower (focused) part. Now i'm not a photo expert, but please read the full article before commenting.

I guess people should practice that argument whenever they shoot something from up close... Plus i can see that white mist is in all G4 photos except when flash was used.

G4 ?? ... a lot of details, but foggy
much better is Lumia 930, it's "LIVING"

I have the same opinion about the LG G4. First thing I said seing the close-up shot : "But... It's foggy !! Or the lens is very dirty...". There is this white hue on every picture and it finishes in first position ?! I don't have the same conclusion.

Surprised to see the Lumia 930 in such a good shape here :)
I think I place it in second place, behind the S6.

Nevertheless, I find that a capital information is not given here : the equivalent focal lenght.
For a smartphone, it is critical since it is supposed to be used in such conditions that you often don't have space to step back to put everything or everyone in the picture. Selfie is a bad example but very concrete. My arms aren't stretchable.
To my eyes, if the S6 is 24mm, the 930 is at 28mm and, finally, the G4 is at 35mm and loses again.

I have a g4, sometimes it does burry shots, but not this much. Mostly if you shoot when the light is not behind you shooting.  Really, all pictures are super shitty with the g4.
My phone does way better than this g4.

HAHAHA OMG the author who wrote this CAN'T be any kind of photographer if he thinks the G4 has the best quality of this bunch.  None are great but WTF? I think the smoke he's blowin is what crosses the lens when he tokes, I mean takes, the pic.
