With the new Ryzen 4000 ThinkPads edging closer to availability, Lenovo adds two new models to the roster: The affordable ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E15 have been available with Intel CPUs for a few months already.

Single channel!? That is seriously effed up Lenovo, especially for a professional machine.

Not to mention small battery and no decent screen (I doubt it's going to be better than the Intel version). It's a bad joke.
It's like they want to make AMD look bad.
no source link=direct email from oem to notebookcheck. i know now :)
..
guys can we please stop complaining about single channel. they chose the path to less productivity-more battery/more silent/smaller size. this is a deliberate choice, design. in this case single channel does nothing bad. i don't mind.
screen(s) was the problem, other than that-very promising best buy.
Single channel ram?
The IGP will cry :-\

You know ThinkPad E series is the budget series in Thinkpad lineup right?
The configuration is as expected for a Thinkpad budget series.
single channel? :o this is no-buy thinkpad...

Do you even remember what was the last
14"/15" Thinkpad that was restricted to a single memory channel? There is a reason for that, and budget has nothing to do with it. The "not a Thinkpad" meme is more and more a prophecy of what is to come.
Thinkpad is a thinkpad. Single channel memory is a joke. Leave that stuff to ideapads, the real budged machines.
This model is DOA. A
single ram slot in a 15" chassis is laughable. Combine this with a <45Wh battery (wtf?), <60% sRGB / <250 nit screen, and weak cooling system and you really have a pile of nothing. Oh, and they got rid of the microSD slot because reasons. Oh, and bottom-loaded keyboard because reasons. But hey, at least they kept the 2.5" hard drive bay!

There's almost nothing that distinguishes this from the $250 Walmart Motile AMD laptop.
Their higher tier AMD machines are not stellar either. All gimped compared to Intel counterparts.
I would say, the much nicer upcoming 15 inch ThinkPad with Ryzen is the ThinkPad L15, since that one at least has two RAM slots.
lol, single channel is a real meme. everybody repeating like parrots without a bit of understanding.

A 8-core chip + powerful IGP sharing a single memory channel, why talk about facts when you can just do personal attacks?
In Lenovo Australia website, E15 Gen 2 (AMD) version comes with 8GB soldered ram + 1 slot, that shows up to 48GB rams.
