Oppo has taken the top spot in the Chinese smartphone market for the first time. The latest data from Counterpoint Research shows that Oppo claimed a 21 percent share of the market to take the lead with Huawei and Vivo tied for second with a 20 percent share of the market each.

Honor accounted for about half Huawei's previous sales, if not over half, and considering Huawei's previous shares of >40% the Chinese market it makes sense too, their SD-running models aren't effected and they do have reserves left so almost the entire drop can be attributed to spinning off Honor. I don't know why Counterpoint didn't disclose the specific effects of the split but maybe it's behind a paywall, they make money selling data after all.
