Post by: Redaktion on June 11, 2022, 15:33:27
Qualcomm is hopeful that its upcoming PC processors designed by Nuvia will be enough to dethrone Apple M2 and help it claim the CPU performance crown. In an interview with CNET, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon elaborated on the company's plan to dominate the CPU, GPU, and AI performance tasks with Nuvia chips that are planned to launch late next year.

It is not impossible for Qualcomm to release a SOC that's faster than the M1 and M2. The problem is not the hardware, but the software. Apple's advantage of having right control over both hardware and software cannot be overlooked. In my opinion, that's one of the main reason why Qualcomm have failed to make any traction with their attempt to release an ARM based Windows laptop that don't perform badly.
