Title: HP reinforces negative stereotypes about business laptops with the EliteBook 835 G7
Post by: Redaktion on November 23, 2020, 01:34:45
Business laptops are known for their good keyboards, numerous connections, and high reliability - but unfortunately, also for their often below-average LCDs, a stereotype that HP regrettably reinforces with the AMD Ryzen 4000 EliteBook 835 G7.

Completely agree. This is a shameful practice that needs to end.

It's not just HP, either; If you want to buy a Lenovo Thinkpad 14s in my region, you are stuck with a 250 nits, 45% SRGB display. On a machine that costs over $1000 USD! Such models hould not be sold to consumers in this state, end of story.

Don't worry. After using these laptops, no one at my work place is asking to buy one of these brands. This is just like fleet car sales to rental companies. They'll burn their own future.

Judging they completely destroyed the trackpad, is this really a business laptop anymore?

Not to mention there is plenty of room to add a few useful keys to the keyboard yet they opted not to.

One of the big issue with "corporate purchases" is that while you can get good stuff if you look carefully, there is a lot of crap there. Because many large businesses just order in bulk blindly. So it's just pure profit for them.

And they can skimp all they want on stuff until they get complaints, then point you to even more expensive models to "fix your problem".

Nicer looking keyboard than their Elitebook. Not sure why spray painted silver paint just doesn't do it for me  ::)

I just bought an Elitebook 845 G7 model and am very impressed... metal chassis, Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U, 32GB/1TB, 1000 nit display, smooth glass trackpad, and I love the keyboard.
