Title: Lenovo's ThinkPad E14 G3 AMD offers plenty of performance and an excellent keyboard
Post by: Redaktion on July 21, 2021, 15:59:41
Lenovo equips the new ThinkPad E14 G3 with AMD's powerful Ryzen 5000 CPUs and brighter IPS panels. The excellent keyboard did not change and the AMD model also manages long battery runtimes thanks to improved efficiency as well as a larger battery.

Working in IT I have to say I hate the keyboard layout these newer models have. The swapping of the Fn and Ctrl key makes no sense and hinders workflow. That and the odd obsession with setting the alternate functions of the F keys as the primary function and only allowing this to be disabled through uefi is aggravating. My next personal laptop won't be a Lenovo if this trend continues.

Better stay away from all Lenovo products they are not reliable at all. I have been having problems since I purchased a P70 which cost a lot.

Is there any good laptop in existence anymore? If I had to pick one for under 1400 € and my wish list was preferably 16:10 display (but rather 16:9 than 3:2), with at least sRGB, long battery life and a good keyboard, what should I go for? FHD resolution is enough and no dGPU is necessary, anything under 2 kg is fine.
