Title: ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4: Leaked video shows taller display for powerful multimedia flagship
Post by: Redaktion on May 31, 2021, 23:05:40
The X1 Extreme is among the few Lenovo ThinkPads that have not been updated yet this year. The upcoming Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 seems to be a huge redesign, as a leaked video shows wide speaker grills and a taller screen.

With 16:10 displays on the X1 series, there is still hope that Lenovo is responding to the demands of its users. More likely, however, Lenovo is copying whatever Apple is doing. Lenovo needs to lead.

Does anyone have a mirror/download of that video? It's been removed.

Hopefully there's an option for a 16" 2560x1600 (16:10) panel - the ideal density/size combination IMO for Windows. Doesn't require scaling and also provides a good amount of desktop real estate.

Most curious to see how the Extreme Gen 4 will compare against the new HP ZBook Studio and MSI Creator Z16.
Hopefully Lenovo has improved the cooling system, audio, and battery capacity, which is what held it back last year from being competitive with other performance laptops.
