By releasing its upcoming football games under a rather unfamiliar new name, the publisher could reportedly save up to US$1 billion in licensing fees which the powerful international football association demanded for the exclusive use of its iconic brand name. FIFA 23 thus appears to be the last FIFA game developed by EA Sports.
