Resident Evil fans are eagerly awaiting the 9th installment of the game series, which could possibly be an open-world game for the first time. A leaker who is considered credible has now announced a possible release date.

SEVEN YEARS  in development!?!?!?!

Unless we are talking about a very small (and inexpensive) team, development costs like that are going to be hard to recover from.

Is anyone else seeing the possibilities of AI doing much of the "grunt work" in game development and taking (hopefully VERY LARGE!) chunks of time out of the development cycles?
