Although Google is not merging Chrome OS and Android yet, they have just announced that Android apps and the Google Play Store are both coming to Chromebooks.

Wow, this is big! Combine this news with Jide Remix OS and you have a new fully capable desktop system! Finally! Now I ready to buy a chromebook :-)

Ok, I'm wrong. You don't need Jide OS since that is for Android... Overexcited I guess...

Jide OS would offer Android on desktops/laptops, and Chromebooks are headed the same way, but they will only run Android apps and the Google Play Store app on Chrome OS. It's a little-not-so-big difference...
