For just $600, the IdeaPad 5 Pro 16 has one of the best displays and fastest processors in its price range. Unfortunately, the limited RAM is a huge wrench on what could have been a really good deal.

nice, but too bad all these offers are valid to us only..
8gb RAM is soldered with no additional slots for expansion. Avoid this deal like the plague.
Agreed. Lenovo and others should not follow apples playbook.
$600 is a great price... The inability to add memory hurts. But also understandable Target customer who wants a cheap notebook typically don't upgrade.
Notebook market is strange. Have to look at $1,000 models that have upgrade options like ThinkPads, and even the lower end versions of those may not be upgradeable. Stick with T series or better.
I've never understood comments like these.
8GB is perfectly usable for many people and if that's how they use their PC, they like don't need more in the next 5 years. There's nothing wrong with devices with low soldered ram from a usability perspective.
If you need more or want to upgrade down the road, you know who you are. There's no reason to assume and push your own usecase onto others.
Also this is one of Lenovo's best products and an amazing deal. The $900 model of this laptop with 3050 gpu is arguably one of the best mid-range laptops of this year.
Does this model come with the 120Hz display?
..wonder how it would go install linux for dual boot
