Title: A power brick maker will release a 90W wall charger later this year
Post by: Redaktion on March 22, 2019, 18:45:59
Huntkey, a company based in Shenzhen, has announced that it is currently producing a 90-watt wall-wart intended for mobile devices. This next-gen power-brick also has a USB type-C output, rather than type-A as normal. It supports various fast-charging profiles, in addition to USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm QuickCharge3.0+.

It does seem somewhat smaller than a typical 90W power brick, the size would typically suggest 50-60W. It's an improvement but I'm not aware of many devices actually consuming ~90W that use C port for charging, it seems that they either don't need 90W or they still use traditional sockets.

Dell XPS 13 gobbles full 45W with ease - It may allow for quicker charge (of course at the expense of battery lifespan, but who cares ;P )
Then there's MacBook Pro - which uses USB-C port for charging at up to 90W.
If the charger mentioned in article would work as intended, it may become a substitute for pricy solutions from i.e. Dell/Apple
