Title: Asura Genesis Xtreme M.2 NVMe SSD vs. Samsung SSD 970 Pro
Post by: Redaktion on June 10, 2019, 20:48:17
The Asura SSD is a high-performance storage drive designed for desktop PC builders looking for more visual flare out of their machines. It's also one of the first NVMe SSDs to incorporate a casing that doubles as LED lighting and a heat sink.

This is a very late comment, but I've just stumbled upon your article.

First, the unique packaging in the article was only available to previewers of these products. That is, an engineering sample of the 1TB drive, the powerbank "gift" and the cables. Retail packaging only includes the drive and screw.

The Asura Genesis drives are compatible with Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, but only with motherboards that support M.2 RGB which became available from Intel Z390 and onwards. Even Intel Z370 or AMD X399 is not compatible.

Disappointingly, the drives only support lighting control of the very center strip, so turning the edge lighting off or adjusting it at all isn't an option.

These are very fast drives for gen 3 and are incredibly well made. I just wish the edge lighting could be turned off.
