Title: Review Asus VivoBook S301LA-C1073H Ultrabook
Post by: Redaktion on April 03, 2014, 07:14:57
A cheap premium laptop? Asus adds a cheap 13 inch Ultrabook to their collection. The laptop contains a Haswell processor and its case has stayed similar to that of the predecessor. It includes a touchscreen as well. How good an Ultrabook can we get for such a low price?

It will be hard to find buyers for this despite the good looks. I have  an Asus U38n that cost me 700 euros after I upgraded it to 10 gb Ram and 240 gb SSD. It scores 3700 in PC Mark 7 and it has a great FHD screen.

There is also a version with the graphics card radeon hd 8530M which should be much higher under the graphic point of view..

This is literally the worst laptop out there. It should cost maximum 300euros for the material. The inside is full of crap. I have the computer for 8 months and the problems started within the first week of use. Right now I am planning a murder to the laptop as soon as I get myself a MacBook. Period.

This was the worst buy I have ever made. In Denmark were I live i hd to pay nearly 870 euros fore it, and i think a bananaskin is a better buy than this shitty PC. DON'T BUY IT!

One of the best subnotebooks in its time.
I'm using it for about ten months, without problems.
My version though is equipped with SSD drive - fantastic.
If I had to make the choice again, I would pick the same notebook.
One thing I do not like - SD card slot. Its the "shallow" one, with half of the card sticking out. I intended to expand storage space (190GB of SSD gets eaten up quite fast) with large SD card I wanted to put in and forget about - no go with this laptop sadly.
