Title: Intel paints Qualcomm as anti-competitive bully in public statement to ITC
Post by: Redaktion on July 22, 2017, 09:06:34
Intel has weighed in on the Qualcomm vs. Apple suit with a public statement in response to a request for comment by the ITC. In the statement, Intel alleges that Qualcomm is a bully, using the court system to crush competition. Intel claims that the move is orchestrated mainly to replace an Intel modem in the iPhone with a Qualcomm one.

PFFFFT!  ;D

You're one to say ANYTHING Intel. At least Qualcomm hasn't been sued over poor anti-competitive practices with their direct rivals!

The matter of fact is that everyone has their sins and everyone is pushing for their own interests. One thing is certain, that Intel has found a redutable adversary in mobile space and Qualcomm won't back up so easily. I hope that in the end, they will both be smart and reach an agreement in which Qualcomm leaves Intel to compete in the mobile modem race and on the other end, Intel leaves Qualcomm to enter PC space with its emulation layer added to Windows.
Because either way, if they won't come to peace then both have to lose something big and I am sure Qualcomm is not too keen on entering PC space, but Intel will lose a lot if they are pushed out of modem space. 5G is a big thing and it will bring a lot of money to those that will have good modems.
