And they all look like garbage

Like the functionality on these devices, but never buying one until they redesign them. Apple, for all its faults, got their watch design right

What exactly don't you like? Because Apple Watch is not without its problems if you want to use it as a sports watch. For example, for this kind of a watch, buttons are mandatory. Have you ever tried to operate the Watch while running at 20 km/h? Or when it's raining? When you have winter gloves on? When you are swimming? Forerunners are primarily aimed at runners (lower end) and triathletes (higher end). The Watch might be elegant, but its HMI fails miserably when used for sports. It's more for lighter, occasional use when buying a dedicated watch is not worth it. You could play with some aspects of the design but they have to remain functional and Forerunners in particular are not meant to be elegant and fashionable. It's utility all the way.
