Among the surprising news stories to come out of Microsoft's Windows 11 announcements is its plan to open up its own Windows 11 Store to third-party app stores. Currently, stores like the Epic Games store and Valve Steam store sell their games via web stores but Microsoft is inviting them to sell their catalogs from directly within its own store.

This article: framing internal MegaCorp squabbles as "something to be excited about" [in Windows 10.11]. Total non-issue (TPM req.) brought up for contrast w/ "all the surprising stuff that's been introduced".
Bro. They literally PROMISED 1 (o-n-e) new feature, and that's Intel Bridge (3rd party software) coming pre-installed. What are you so happy about.

This is just Microsoft's way to try closing down the Windows ecossystem, to make it more along the lines of Android and iOS. I hope it fails.

Sure, MSFT. Put your money where your mouth is. Welcome on the Xbox, payment systems and all (as you proudly proclaim for your PC). C'mon. We'll see where your loyalties really lie.

So they're "welcome" to be hosted on the extremely crappy Windows store, which I won't even use because of being unable to do anything when it randomly just stopped working and wouldn't even open, all while paying 12% of their revenues, vs just continuing to use their own stores that are significantly more popular and developed and allows them to keep all the revenue for themselves. Okay. MS is basically asking them to pay MS for the privilege of helping MS gain users in their store. So typical of them, trying everything but actually improving their products and services to gain users.
