Since Nvidia allows for a wide variety of TGPs on all of its mobile GPUs, the RTX 3050 Ti does not really make any sense. OEMs can easily replace this model with a lower TGP RTX 3060 and keep the 6 GB of VRAM. 4 GB of VRAM is not even the bare minimum for some current AAA games, let alone whatever games will be released in the coming years.

On the other hand, you look at its deployment in a productivity/creator premium thin & light notebook like the Dell XPS 15 and it makes sense due to the thermal limits and the priority given to battery life over gaming performance, for instance.

It has 2/3's of the cores and too little memory for most productivity workloads. Again, as the article already states, a 3060 with lower clocks/power consumption makes much more sense for literally everyone.
I'll be looking forward to Intel Atom Ti

Not that i disagree, but the 3060 "max-q" is 60-80 watts, while the 3050 ti can go as low as 35. If you want a thin chassis it might be the only option.
If it makes sense to sacrifice so much performance for a little bit of extra performance it's a whole other topic though
Hi! Lately I've been looking at a couple of laptops on sale on my area and fits within my budget range.
The 2021 Lenovo Legion 5 R7 5800H, 16gb RAM and RTX 3060 6gb $1500+
ASUS ROG Zephyrus M15 i7 10750H, 16gb RAM and GTX 1660Ti 6gb $1500+
ASUS ROG STRIX G17 R9 5900HX, 16gb RAM, RTX 3060 6gb $1800+
ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 i7-11800H, 16gb RAM, RTX 3050Ti 4gb $1800+
I'm looking at the G17, M16 and the Lenovo the most.
I mainly work on programs like AutoCAD and renders sometimes. gaming on some free time but mostly for work.
I opted for portability that is why I choose a laptop instead of a desktop.
Any advise on which would be best out of these options?
