Title: Microsoft Surface Book 3 15 Convertible Review: Still great, but is it better than its predecessor?
Post by: Redaktion on June 22, 2020, 17:25:20
We are pushing the almost unrivaled 15-inch convertible Surface Book 3 through our various test scenarios. Both the tablet hardware (i7 Ice Lake, G7 graphics) and the convertible hardware (GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q) look even more impressive compared to its predecessor (i7 Kaby Lake refresh, GTX 1060). But is the current model actually more powerful and is the difference noticeable enough to warrant an upgrade? These are questions we will attempt to answer in our review.

QuoteOn the one hand, the tablet then permanently operates in battery mode, since it can only be charged through the base unit

Nope, you actually can charge tablet without base. Just plug in surface power adapter or surface dock to bottom of detached tablet part.
At least that's work fine for my surface book 2 15''.

Cons:
"- Thunderbolt 3 requires expensive dock"

What did I miss? Can I buy something to enable Thunderbolt?
