Title: No Android 10 or Widevine DRM fix for the Redmi Note 8 Pro this year, Xiaomi confirms
Post by: Redaktion on December 18, 2019, 14:08:54
The Redmi Note 8 Pro may have been spotted running Android 10 builds of MIUI 11 several times now, but a stable version may still be a way off. A fix for the European variant's Widevine DRM L1 certification will not arrive before next year either, according to Xiaomi Indonesia General Manager, Alvin Tse.

I like my Redmi Note 8 Pro better than any phone I've ever had. But Xiaomi has treated this phone in a shabby fashion in my opinion. Slow MIUI 11 upgrade. And now the same slowness with Android 10. Very disappointed.

Most android OEMs treat the mid or low priced sections indifferently.

I went with K20 pro considering longevity and timely updates and am happy, although I didn't expect same from a Chinese OEM.
