OPPO has announced an interesting new feature upgrade for its phones, intended to allow users to scan their surroundings to detect concealed cameras. The OEM suggests that it might be increasingly relevant and vital, especially as consumers start travelling again. However, it might only be available on the company's latest and highest-end Android smartphones at first.

Personally, I think this is a great, much-needed thing, but I doubt it would work very well, and it's more likely to just give people a false sense of security. For example, a wired camera or one in a TV, both more likely to be used in a hotel, wouldn't be seen by this.
