Title: Microsoft went from door to door to take malware-infected routers offline
Post by: Redaktion on July 20, 2021, 20:49:29
When it became clear that the fight against the malicious software called Trickbot could not be won remotely, Microsoft resorted to drastic measures and sent employees from door to door in order to manually take infected networking hardware offline.

What a short, nothing sauce article.

"Microsoft went door to door..."

OK. AND? What else? How did they find the infected? What were people's responses? How effective was it? How about something to take this from being a few paragraphs to an actual article with something interesting in it?

Microsoft went door to door!!! Wow.. Since when they sell routers? When do they get the power to offer a such a device as a router to prevent such treats? The author love technology since Pentium II.. well many of us go way before the 8086.. I guess he will have to google that! Come on!

As we go forward we are going to be confronted with many security issues that we haven't face before. Some of them may actually require physical intervention to get them under control. I know in some countries that internet service providers have disconnected domestic services because PCs were spewing viruses out onto the internet. This seems to be just an extension of that. I am sure it wasn't only Microsoft. I am sure they had the vendors going out and assisting with this task as well. It would have been better to mention that other vendors were involved to help with this problem, especially import countries where they are running older hardware and would appreciate assistance in getting these types of problems under control.
