A reseller group has been detailing how its members managed to get hold of almost 3,500 PlayStation 5 consoles purely for the purpose of selling them at a much higher price than RRP. As the PS5 is now reportedly sold out worldwide, country-specific sites for eBay have become littered with thousands of listings for Sony's new console.

Ah... what an old story... such immoral business is very much intolerable

Ah, the usual first world problem. The only thing that solved this, is patience. Wait until supply chain is restored, and those all scalpers will cry to own those units, might even sell it cheaper.

Saying you just need to wait is shortsighted.  Do you really think the bot groups are just going to stop?  They have a stranglehold on the supply, so they price gouge.  Unless retailers start selling from stores or take stronger measures, they will just keep gobbling up the supply and maintaining the high price point.  Eventually, people will pay or have to wait an unnecessary length of time.  The diamond industry is a great example.  They're sitting on billions of diamonds and just release a little at a time.  They've been doing it for decades, and we accept it.  What stops the bot groups of just holding onto the supply until quarantines are over.
