Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has issued a blog post detailing the company's plans to reduce its personnel numbers by five figures in 2023. These layoffs have reportedly already begun, affecting one of the Redmond giant's US centers. Then again, some of those whose jobs are terminated are slated to benefit from enhanced post-employment support.

"Some staff who have or will lose their positions will be eligible for the company's new panel of benefits, including the retention of their current healthcare coverage for 6 months and "career transition services", as well as an "above-market" severance package projected to cost Microsoft as much as US$1.2 billion even as it aims to "align our cost structure" in 2023"

This is why no one should feel proud or loyalty towards big corps. The moment they see you as a cause of them losing some money, they cut you off without second thoughts.

Hope those 10k folks can find a new job soon.

I guess with only a $135 billion in profits in 2022 times are tough.

Shameful
