Title: Sony Xperia 2 to feature mysterious S-Cinetone function
Post by: Redaktion on August 06, 2019, 11:17:08
Although the name of the upcoming Sony Xperia 2 is not set in stone yet, the Japanese company has recently trademarked one of its features, namely S-Cinetone. While this name suggests a photo- or video-related function, there are no technical details to talk about. However, the trademark documents reveal that Sony's next-gen devices will use a 21:9 display.

So you have zero info about the new tech but went ahead to make an article of it anyways, then ended up complaining about the naming of the Xperia line?

Great, My 1st and Last time of being a reader here then.

@Niccy: There is no zero info, we know where it will be used. The name is quite suggestive. We know that Sony has introduced a lot of technologies in the past related to color correction and displays, so this is most likely about that.
Complaining about the naming of the Xperia line? I am sorry if it sounded like complaining. I was just stating the obvious fact that Sony is not following a linear approach.
@Massimo33: Do you think that Sony's (flagship) or Samsung's (in the mid-range sector) naming changes are not confusing? Good for you, but most other people find these changes quite confusing.
