Title: Intel Tremont-based Jasper Lake Pentium and Celeron CPUs could feature Gen11 integrated graphics
Post by: Redaktion on May 19, 2020, 09:46:02
A 3DMark listing of an unnamed Jasper Lake part has surfaced online. Jasper Lake-based Pentium and Celeron SKUs are touted to be based on the Intel 10nm Tremont architecture and may also feature Gen11 integrated graphics, which is a significant step up from the current Gen9.5 iGPU in Gemini Lake.

people have no clue about these marketing "gen" stuff. some next "gen" are exactly the same as old "gen", but some are not.
can we please move on from the marketing stuff to the reality?

Actually not, Gen 11 doesn't refer to "next gen", rather is the core design.

Just like Nvidia talks about Pascal, Maxwell, Turing.

In Intel, its GPU designs are named "Gen". Gen 9 / 9.5 (UHD 600-series);
Gen 10/11 are rather marketed as Iris Plus, and are significantly better than UHD 600-series.

Gen 12 are the new Xe Designs.

It's significant that they are including Gen 11 design in "budget" pieces as Pentium and Celeron.
