Foxconn's reported directions as regards display technology production have sparked speculation that the iPhones of the future may have microLED displays. This next-gen form of screen is starting to manifest in TVs at this point. However, Foxconn may think it is also the future of smartphone panels.

Both Sony's and Samsung's MicroLED products still have massive pixels, not nearly enough pixel density for a mobile device, but come to think of it, it's hard to say if it's the cause or effect of the current panels only being marketed for cinema use.
Neat. Hopefully they establish a good precedent and give it a full RGB subpixel matrix.
