While full-power GeForce RTX 2080 laptops don't come cheap, this limited-time deal on Asus' most powerful gaming laptop makes it one of the least expensive in its category. The $2400 price point is several hundred dollars cheaper than competing systems from the MSI GE75 series or the Acer Predator series.

The new HP Omen 17 is still cheaper than this, with the same specs, as well as being brand new, much thinner, and with a much less garish design.
And according to the laptopmedia review on the Omen 2070 version - it runs really cool and quiet.
**In Australia, the G703GX from Newegg is $4029 AUD. The HP Omen 17 w/ i7-9750H & RTX 2080 is $3600 AUD without any discount.
The Omen uses the 2080 Max-Q, which definitely will not perform as well as the Asus which is using the 2080 regular edition. It has much better cooling as well due to the size so both CPU and GPU will be able to sustain higher clocks.
Yep, RTX2080 Max-Q performs similarly to a regular (or "Max-P", as some people call it) 2070. It has absolutely no chance against the 2080 Max-P in this GX703
