Title: Asus starts shipping the ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming laptop with Ryzen 7 1700 dekstop CPU
Post by: Redaktion on November 21, 2017, 14:20:52
The 17-inch ROG Strix GL702ZC can easily replace a desktop gaming rig, as it is powered by a desktop-grade Ryzen 7 1700 CPU and a desktop version of the Radeon RX580 GPU. It also comes with a 1080p IPS Freesync display, 16 GB of DDR4-2400 and a storage combo made up of a 1 TB 5400 rpm HDD and a 256 GB M.2 SATA SSD.

Asus wants to sell to whom? Those who could use this: 3D graphic artists get a lousy graphic card that doesn't have CUDA that most GPU rendering engines need.

would be perfect portable workstation for running multiple VM's or parallel computations, if not for the screaming red design
Title: Wonderful news about a wonderful machine

We're buying one initially and then 2 or 3 HP x360 with AMD Ryzen Mobile.

But if this ASUS plays nice, we might increase the budget.

Great machine!

10 degrees cooler than the Intel version and decent battery life for a DTR, despite the smaller battery when compared to ASUS' Intel version.

The new 12nm AMD Ryzen is coming in March, so there will be an upgrade option as well.

Too bad it doesn't come with an interchangeable Optical Drive and a TouchScreen option.
