Title: Apple M2 manages to beat AMD's Ryzen 7 6800U in Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Post by: Redaktion on July 07, 2022, 16:54:13
Even though the M2 is not specifically designed for gaming and despite the lack of optimization on the latest macOS, the iGPU in Apple's new mobile processor is still a tad faster than AMD's 25 W Ryzen 7 6800U. The M2 with 18 W TDP was able to squeeze an additional 2-3 fps in 1920 x 1200 set to medium / high / highest details.

More impressed at how close the 6800u + 680m is.

Is it only me who does not understand why people use the word "beat" in the title when it is only a difference of 1-2 fps? Technically it is correct, true, but it is not accurately represent the conclusion and is not informative. I bet that most people here are expecting at least a difference of 5-10 fps after seeing the title. "barely beats" or something similar is probably more helpful.

Is it rendering the same? TDP is not the power used so the AMD could also be using less. Seems like comparing Apples to pears.
