And halo.  Sony has always had so many exclusive rights to games and content and now they're crying that Microsoft is buying Activision.  Such a selfish move from the Japanese company.  I love Sony but damn they're pretty af.  They started this stupid fight.  And eventually they'll end up making Microsoft screw Sony players in the long-run.  It was only a matter of time until this happened where Sony doesn't get their way.  Good for Microsoft for fighting this fight.  Sony is not for the people.  They've never wanted players to come together.
Gayeeee!

Quote from: Meh on December 25, 2022, 22:48:23I would MAYBE believe them if they hadn't included BloodBorne on there, it was co-developed by Japan Studio (a 1st Party Sony team) and Sony themselves OWN the IP (same as Demon's Souls) so it wouldn't have ever come to Xbox regardless (wouldn't have been made without Sony) basically the EXACT SAME situation as Crystal Dynamics working on the New Perfect Dark game for Xbox... Why isn't that coming to PS5?

I'm smelling some pretty big bullshit here 🤷♂️

Lol, what? Bloodbourne wasn't even PS IP. From software came with the project & Pony agreed to publish on one condition that it would not come to Xbox. It was through & through FromSoftware's project.  But, perfect dark is through & through Xbox project. They are just taking some help from crystal dynamics. That's it. But, by your silly logic any Zenimax game by default should be Xbox exclusive. There shouldn't be any debate at all. Then why ponies are crying all over the world.

Quote from: Kas on December 26, 2022, 16:46:39Everyone here is overlooking the main problem with all of this.

The problem is not that Microsoft is making Bethesda titles exclusive, or that both Sony and Microsoft have been making exclusives for years.

The problem is that Sony is now trying to pressure the US government to stop the purchase of Activision by Microsoft by claiming Microsoft might make CoD an Xbox exclusive. Not only is that extremely unlikely, but it's hypocritical AF. Sony has been refusing to play ball with anyone else for a long time. Microsoft did the same thing in the 360 era when it was the dominant console. It's just the smart position for the market leader to be in.

None of that behavior has ever been nor ever will be grounds for interfering with the free market, and that's exactly what Sony is trying to do.

It's amazing that you are trying to quote a free market, while Microsoft, much like Disney and the phone companies, are attempting to create a monopoly.

Which happens to be illegal in the United States.

It seems people don't realize how important the monopoly law is. Without it Apple would not have survived the 90's. We might not have gotten an Xbox if Microsoft wasn't forced to separate into 4 pillars

I don't see anywhere that it says any contractual agreement for third party games was made permanently.

That is not an actual fact, Microsoft don't say it, and the biggest thing everyone ignores here is that PC is windows.

Sony is giving Microsoft windows it's games, and ironically the exact method (through buying out the others) is why PC is synonymous with Microsoft windows, because they have the monopoly on personal computing, so much so even a wonderful and free os can't take more than a percent of people, and every last person here is forced to accept giving up all your privacy using windows just to install since windows 10.  There is no real alternative or competition.

Yeah yeah, I don't care what company you like, monopolies end terribly.

Quote from: HulkMode666 on December 26, 2022, 00:42:10Final Fantasy was Playstation exclusive for quite some time before the Ps360 era, so to some of us that have been around for more than 1 decade, not only nothing new but some may even say "back to how it should be.

After taking certain Bethesday/Zenimax games for themselves, serves them right as far as I'm considered.

If Microsoft really wanted more first and second party titles, there are LOADS of studios with many ideas that their current publishers arent letting them roll with, either unadulterated, if at all. Those guys probably would love to become a part of MS considering the support and more than likely, better freedom to do their own passion projects between the "big ones."

Instead they're playing games where an infant can call them out on. I don't feel bad for MS. Activision has a few (boatload of) lessons to learn, and lord knows a few of their IPs would work better without them dictating, but not only do I doubt that MS would be the saving grace for those odd studios, Activision isn't exactly a small player overall.

You just don't do that! Studios are one thing, especially if their stuff is solid and on the roulette table as far as where it would end up as it is, but not a whole HUGE publisher! They shot themselves in the foot with Bethesda. Simple! I'm all about the deal being blocked by regulators on that point alone (something that the mobs seem to overlook for some mind boggling reason)

Activision houses WAAAAAY more than the COD studios guys.

Lol they just bought the studio they weren't blocking the games from other game systems until Sony did this. What are you on about lol sounds like you just have it out for xbox or you're a ps stan

I have all of the consoles and still hate the fact that there are exclusive games, im not rich, i have poured blood into getting all that stuff, and it is getting rediculous. Permanently exclusive games are stupid, timed exclusive games are somewhat stupid. Games used to be about the expirience, about the amazing story and realistic graphics. Now it's all about the money, subscriptions, sell, buy... It's gotten really expensive to be a gamer and i am heavily invested in the storylines of many games, especially exclusive ones like ff, spiderman, halo, etc. I feel like i wanna drop everything and start playing wow again but then i remember how sexist blizzard studios are. Just stop it. Please. None should spend THAT MUCH MONEY on gaming.
