Tesla Model 3 and Model Y deliveries in Australia are likely to have a long 12-month waiting period owing to production delays in the company's Shanghai Gigafactory. The whole of April saw less than half the Model 3s made compared to the daily production rate. Chinese regulators have also confirmed that Tesla would be recalling 107,293 Model 3 and Model Y cars in the country due to overheating touchscreens.
