Apple has unveiled its brand new A16 Bionic SoC alongside the new iPhones. It is manufactured on TSMC's N4 node, packs 16 billion transistors, and uses its predecessors' Hexa-core design. Other features include a new neural engine, a five-core GPU and more efficient CPU cores.

A16 announcement was frustrating vague. Are the A16's "16-core neural engine and ISP that can perform up to 4 TOPS" an upgrade over the A15 and if so is the degree of improvement quantifiable in some way (like is there an A15 ISP TOPS number somewhere)?

Also, sounds like Apple stuck with LPDDR4 for the 14 non-Pro models and upgraded the Pro models to LPDDR5 or LPDDR5X. Much lower power RAM together might boost battery life?
