The portable drive known as My Passport SSD offers transfer speeds up to 515 MB per second, being compatible with USB 3.1 Type-C and also able to withstand falls up to 6.5 feet.

I can't contact Western Digital.Can this product be used with an older Macbook Pro?If so how?Thanks.

Wrong information; this isn't their first. Western Digital already has a USB type-C gen 2 standard external SSD called SanDisk Extreme 900. It's been out in the market for months now.
