LaCie, a subsidiary of Seagate, has released its latest portable SSD with USB type C. The company claims that it can transfer data at up to 540 MB/s and support up to USB 3.0 standards. The LaCie type C portable SSD is also supposedly shock-proof, despite its carefully-styled 9mm-thick chassis.

Speed listed as 540 megabytes but in parentheses it says Mb/s indicating megabit, an eighth the speed.
