The USB4 2.0 specs may have been approved a few weeks ago, but Intel is already demoing working Thunderbolt connectors with 80 Gbps bandwidth.

Well, Intel doesn't need to worry since their Thunderbolt controllers historically did support current USB protocol. After all, the major difference between TB3 and TB4 is USB4 support. One can expect Intel to implement whatever advances USB IF makes and to probably be among the first to do so as this is clearly an area of interest to them.

I meant USB standard, not protocol.
