Microsoft has acknowledged that some Surface Book 2 laptops are experiencing NVIDIA dGPU disconnects following the Windows 10 May 2019 Feature Update. If you have already updated your Surface Book 2 to Windows 10 version 1903 then you are out of luck, as Microsoft currently has no workaround other than to prevent all devices from updating to the latest version of Windows.

Yup, I've got the problem. It's a total pain and makes the whole system unstable as apps that were using the GPU can die a horrible death - Outlook is one of the worst.

Add that to the random USB disconnects and monitor resolutions when connecting via the surface dock and this machine is turning into a real pain!

Hello,

i face this issue too. I have the feeling that all the applications they are using OpenGL are in trouble if they try to use the Nvidia gpu. DirectX games like Forza are running very good and smooth. I am really waiting
for an update. I was just to fast to go to the OS 1903 Version. No my device is not working for me- some licenses are Software based- so a reinstallation is not possible.

Hello,
Yes the problem is there, the dGPU will show up for a fraction of a minute then disappear again, but it's very easy to fix,in my case i didn't rollback to the old driver, instead i installed the Nvidia experience software that updated my driver to the latest GameReady Driver, this solved all my problems at once and yes all my apps and games works fine, i even have a dashboard to configure my Nvidia dGPU now!
