The LG G8S ThinQ has arrived late to the party, but it still brings a flagship SoC, a large OLED display, a ToF camera and a 3,550 mAh battery. The G8S ThinQ may have fancy camera tech, but it is otherwise a fairly run of the mill flagship. However, read on to find out why we still think highly of LG's latest attempt to disrupt the established order.

Not even a mention of "DAC"?  No wonder LG has a problem with marketing these devices as not even 'top notch' review sites mention the audiophile quality headphone output.
This is an epic fail by Notebookcheck.

LG G8s doesn't have a DAC, it was confirmed by LG in Poland. Only LG G8 (US version) has it, unfortunately LG is clueless those days.

LG is clueless.  Da!

But...I expect more, much more, of Notebookcheck than I expect of corporate marketing - especially in the way of technical documentation and analysis.

For the US market, and those seeking to buy the LG G8 US model, it would be good to include this information on model differentiation.

Really LG, no DAC in this model?  Audiophile audio quality is LG's raison d'être, they have no other reason to exist.

Hi, In the article it say the LG G8S Thin Q is MIL-STD-810 compliant.

I had previously looked on the LG website [for my region =South Africa}  & on another review/specification website [GSMarena], where that attribute is not attributed to the G8S. Given that, and just having read your review, I checked again & it's still not showing it as being a feature of the G8S phone

Given the difference, could the author please try & shed some light on the discrepancy.
Thanks

Hi. After some weeks of searching among different brands, i finally made my mind to buy huawei nova 5t. It's for some days that i found a very good offer on this phone you reviewed, lg g8s and after searching i found out this is great too. I read all your review and i really enjoyed it about analyzing part to part and in detail. Now i wanted to ask what do you suggest me among these to phones i mentioned. I would be appropriate if you could help me to choose one of them.

I got this phone less than 6 months ago. In all this time I had to send it 3 times for repair in warranty. First time they changed the entire screen. The second time they fixed the fingerprint sensor. The 3rd time I sent the phone for warranty the shop PC GARAGE Romania said that the humidity sensor inside the phone, visible when you open the SIM tray, is showing water damage. The phone is supposed to have an IP68 ratting. I did not immersed this phone  in water. All I did was to take a photo while it was slowly raining. The problems with the signal and battery discharge appeared after 4 days of the moment I took one photo in the rain. Maybe the phone has IP68 ratting indeed, but the first 2 times when they repaired the phone they did not bring it back to the IP68 ratting. Now I am left with a not working phone by PC GARAGE Romania
