A UserBenchmark record has been shared online showing the performance of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 3700X processor. The 8-core, 16-thread Zen 2 chip has powered through the speed tests and thrown up an average benchmark score that not only places it equal to the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X but also puts it ahead of Intel's powerful Core i9-9900X.

Please keep a careful eye on TDP.  There is a mismatch of performance at a given TDP level and the heat spirals up for both vendors when they start pushing the performance envelope.  It's not a straight line but a curve.

Moreover games seem to still favor the Intel paradigm (which means if they keep market share even close to now that won't change much).  And everything hitting multiple threads hard (rendering and video encoding) is going to favor the AMD stack.  That really means that servers, where threading is more prominent in performance, are the battleground.  Consumer users can pick either and do well enough.

if this 7nm was good enough, it wouldn't have less effeciency with more than 2 times L3 & L2 cache. (Ryzen 5 vs i9 9900K). Intel's 45 watts i9 8 core Laptop CPU uses *MUCH* Less power (in dell xps 15) with iGPU to get to that performance, even though AMD is benchmark optimized vs real world optimized intel..
It indicates 7nm amd is behind intel 14nm++. They just use more cache, nothing more...

Thanks!

Wrong.  Just give AMD and TSMC time to refine the 7nm process.  Intel have been on 14nm for a decade now so of-course it is highly refined.  You big dummy N1663r
