Any XPS 15 7590 "review" already out... isn't a review

You are going to start seeing articles and videos cleverly implying educated conclusions about Dell's recently released XPS 15 7590. Don't be fooled into thinking they are anything other than first-impressions.

What do you MEAN Forbes telling us it has cool features like a screen and some battery life isn't a good review???

It's why i'm here, i love in depth review :)

Don't mess it up with such "opinions".. Of course it's nice of you trying to educate the audience in making the right decision about a laptop, but leave that to your readers.
Sure, some would take advantage of it and use click baits just to gain some views in the process. Quality will make a difference though. They will eventually lose their audience should they (literally) suck at it. Nobody spends time with low quality or useless content.

You produce high quality laptop reviews, some of the best actually (kudos for that!), but don't start bashing on other reviewers with such "opinions". Even without naming them.

By producing high quality content and educating readers on what they should look for when choosing a laptop, I believe it's the right thing to do. Just focus on what you do best and people will follow. And maybe innovate a bit in what you do, try new things and see how people react.
Otherwise you risk loosing some of the current audience. My 2 (euro)cents :)

Back to December 2018, before reading an "in depth" review here about the XPS15 (2018) 9570, I was impressed with the 92% score and was about to replace my Zbook14 1st gen with it.
Fortunately I hesitated, on one hand because of the Zbook quality, replacing it isn't easy, on the other hand I felt something missing like too good to be true.
We now know a certain number of issues the XPS 15 users have been experiencing and until today not all the issues were solved.
I hope this time in a couple of weeks when your "in depth" review about the 7590 will be released, I'll be impressed by the score (94% ?) without feeling something missing again. Thank you greatly.

I absolutely agree with this article and strongly believe in every word written.

With so many opinions, people get confused, with so cheaply-made opinions "reviews" people gets remorse.

We need liable sources for information,  from real pros, preferably with engineering background and deep knowledge about Tech.

Take for example reviews comparing a Microsoft Surface Pro to an "iOS-based" iPad, just because they both have PRO in their name. Well, this sucks, articles like these mis-lead thousands of people.

Its real shame that just about" ANY" butt-whole can go online and starts to pour his/her influences.

We Need Liable Sources, CNN Execluded! ;)

We all want to know if it's a super sleek, looks-great but badly-cooled thin'n'light like the Dell XPS I'm writing this on. Instead of writing pointless editorials like this, just get on and review the bloody thing, Notebookcheck!

Nowadays many so called tech youtubers just post a so called 'Open Box' review and earn attentions and fame that they don't deserve. That's sad.

I appreciate your work and recommend this website to my friends who's interested in tech.

Thank you for taking your time with the review. My only wish would be for you guys to make sure to review both of the 4K panels - the OLED DCI-P3 and the AdobeRGB LCD. Thanks!

I really would like to see some reviews of the latitude 7401, there are no reviews anywhere : /

@Chun Qiu - I also have a zbook 1st gen, it is probably the laptop I had for the longest amount of time. I also find it quite difficult to replace : /

XPS 15 was on my rader but dell's bad habit of poor thermals and lack of buttons on trackpad makes it a non-starter.

Reviews on NB should really weight the temperature aspect a lot more than they do. High temperatures is bound to cause problems down the line from experience. Part of the reason for the zbook 14 1st gen lasting so long is precisely the fact that it runs rather cool.

I'm looking forward to a real XPS 15 7590 review. Dell absolutely has a track record for getting key things wrong and they're often seemingly oblivious or simply don't care about some of the problems. I think if Microsoft wants to buy 15,000 of a given model laptop they listen. But if they have unhappy individual users they generally don't care unless the complaints reach some obvious critical mass. People need to bash Dell in a big way when they get things wrong but online reviewers getting free samples rarely do.

The sad thing is Dell clearly has the resources and expertise to make no-excuses excellent products. But, for whatever reason, they often miss the mark in at least a few critical ways. It might be a serious thermal issue, a horrible trackpad, incredibly annoying fan management, wake from sleep issues, WiFi issues, etc. So I couldn't agree more we need in-depth reviews that expose the sorts of flaws that are not obvious in a quick evaluation at a show, in a retail store, or even a quick unboxing.

The XPS 15 is in an increasingly rare product niche. Most of the competing 15 inch laptops are either inferior in significant ways or have their own hard-to-live-with flaws. The LG Gram 15, for example, has the trackpad stupidly offset from the keyboard. It's the sort of dumb mistake not even Dell would make. It's a very Apple-like form over function choice where some idiot at LG decided the trackpad needs to be centered on the chassis for aesthetic reasons not on the keyboard with it's numeric keypad creating a huge offset. A quick summary of the specs doesn't tell the story of daily usability. You have to live with it for a while.

I have my own theories on why Dell keeps missing these basic things; I wrote about it in an article a few weeks back here (about sub-contracting): ultrabookreview.com/27992-subcontracting-worst-kept-secret/

IMO Dell needs to bring more things back under their own control.
